First you must learn to read, then you can read to learn​

Welcome!   Teaching has been my life for 30 years.  I love to read, and it's a magical feeling when I have guided a struggling student to become a strong and confident reader.  The most effective way that I have found to teach students to overcome challenges in reading and writing has been to employ research-based, multisensory approaches. I am a Certified Wired for Reading Specialist℠​ as well as a practitioner of the Slingerland, Orton-Gillingham,  and ​Lindamood-Bell methods.  Through a combination of these approaches, as well as through years of teaching experience, I have built a large toolbox from which custom educational programs can be devised and modified for each student.
